I get really squeamish about storing too much information online, regardless of how safe it might be.
It might seem silly but I have control issues, and they have served me well.
Wouldn't it be safer to store your home inventory disk in a Safety Deposit Box?

I wouldn't feel to bad if I were you about this... You have every right to be a little protective about this kind of situation because of how volatile the internet can be. I guess it depends on how secure the website is ultimately, yet at the same time it depends on if you trust it enough to store information online.
Its a tough one to answer but I myself use online storage for certain things and haven't had any major problems with it.

I agree somewhat. I have considered using online storage numerous times however I just cannot manage to bring myself to put the most important things on there so its basically pointless. We are saving for an external memory then I will download everything and put it in a very safe place. |

I wouldn't dare storing my files over other peoples' servers. Imagine if you got filed with a lawsuit if you have ripped or illegaly obtained music or whatever you got off a torrent site. |

Most on-line backup services will allow you to select what you want to back up. So if you did have any files that you did not want backed up it's easy to make it so.
I use an on-line service basically for my documents and db's that I know I can't lose. Easy enough to restore and get back up and running if I ever had a hd failure for any reason.

| The problems with disks is that there are things that could go wrong such as a disk not writing correctly or the disk getting lost, broken, scratched, or damaged. I don't think you should be keeping social security numbers and such in online storage but I think online storage is nice to keep things accessible where ever you go and if you decide to switch computers or something. |

i think it is good to safe in your microsoft word or microsoft excel file. perhaps you can copy those files in a USB drive. make sure you do not lose that USB drive. you can also save information manually in papers. |

| I believe using a file such as wasi90lk would work for something simple, even an access database would work fairly simple you might just want to make sure you password protect the document and maybe encrypt the document. The only problem with just having that sole document though would be the issue of if the document ever got corrupted or something was to happen to that file. |
