Hello all

My name is Tammerah Robertson and I teach school. I am looking to start a home inventory business in rural Montana upon my retirement. (1-2 years) Presently, in my spare time I have a small video production company and a friend and I do weddings, reunions, memorials, graduations and other special events but my creative juices are running low. I just want something that is fairly straight forward and do not require alot of artistic flare. Right now I am just in the planning / research stages and I have to say that just reading all of your comments and posts gets me excited for this new chapter in my life. The camaraderie you all seem to have with one another seems to add to yoursuccess. I look forward to talking to you more in the future. I, like many, have decided on the KC inventory software because of its highly rated reputation and widespread approval from all of you.

Thanks again for the great information for all of us newbies

Tammerah

P.S.

Is there anyone else doing this in Montana ??

Forum: Introductions

Here is the direct site to the employment...http://www.4kingsinternetmarketing.com/employ.htm
They told me they have all the customers and will pass them on a daily basis to me. The drawback is out of a normal $500 day, I have to give them $250 for the set appointment. They asked for $95 upfront via a money pak card to become accredited for being a home inventory specialist. DOES ANYONE KNOW IS THIS IS A REAL DEAL OR NOT?

I am finally getting around to this. I ordered program at the beginning of April and have been reading the books. I talked with Rick and told him that I wanted to make sure that I am doing everything right and want a good strong business. I don't like jumping into things then failing. I am recently married and have been busy this month getting our things situated. I have been thinking strong on this home inventory business for over 5 months and decided this is what I want to do and will give all into my success. I like that fact of this blog as to the encouragement from others that are doing the business. I am starting my first house next week and yes I am doing a family member. I hope and pray all have great success with their businesses and I accept prayers for the success of mine. Thanks...

Forum: Introductions

Useful Life / Depreciation questions!

For all the minds that need to understand or analyze things, I have a question as to the "Useful Life / Depreciation" tables that will help one understand the relationship between the "Total Current Value" or REPLACEMENT value and the "total Depreciated Value" or Actual cash Value. For those who don't use this or understand this, it is a really very simple.

In the software, on the item page in inventory, you fill it out and in the 5th section down is AGE and then LIFE. LIFE ? click on (?) and a box opens and you have CATEGORY and ITEM to pick. If you buy an "appliance / major" and the Item is Television, color the useful Life of 12 years if automatically filled in. Then the Current Depreciated Value is calculated. Very cool part of the program!

How often does the Insurance Industry change or adjust these figures?
How can we get a copy, or print out a copy of these that are in the software? I like to LOOK at the OVER ALL PICTURE, instead of going thru all of them line by line.

I just did a Short 7 PAGE "What if this was Your Home" for a Chamber of Commerce Members presentation last Thursday and it did get peoples attention.

For all who don't really know how to use this software, when you do you will see it is very good and user friendly. Our "Business Model Problem" is that people don't think they need to do it now. You know I how they FEEL! I FELT the same way, until I FOUND OUT - there is more pain doing this AFTER and event than BEFORE that event!

The only way you can make this business work - is to sell it! You sell what you know, what you believe and what you do. That's why they call this work and not play! Good selling!

JW

Forum: Open Discussion Forum

I would be curious to find out how many of us use a bar code scanner, and how often have you had that demand? We have been in the inventory business for a bit over a year now, and we have not once been asked to index or catalogue by bar code. Most clients appear to be comfortable with the count.

Forum: Open Discussion Forum
